Are skid plates of any way / shape / form required for the sweep vehicles?

Not really. You would be running on forestry roads, like in Renfrew/Beaverbank and the fire roads connecting International/Clearcut/Halfmoon, not on rock trails where you may be bottoming out.

No, as James says. Anything larger than an American football is cleared off the course. These Rally cars run at speed and larger rocks would do major damage! If you come Scott we would have our full complement of four sweep vehicles, and we can drop to three if someone has to back out at the last minute. That fourth spot is still open!

Now, I'm waiting on some info if we can do the course opening (pace car-ish) as well with sweep vehicles (schedule-wise).........

I think we have:

1) Eugene - '84 Suburban, winch, co-driver/crew Matt

2) Robbie - '10 Rubicon, winch, co-driver/crew Emily

3) Mike - Jimny or Vitara, winch?, co-driver/crew Doug?

4) Scott - '07 H2, co-driver/crew Tom

Tentative

5) Calvin - '97 GC, winch?, co-driver/crew?

6) John - '08 FJ, co-driver/crew?

So we are good to go as sweep vehicles! We've been asked if we can supply 'course opening' vehicles. They tell me because of scheduling, sweep vehicles cannot do double duty as 'course opening' vehicles. I'm going to tell them what we have, and suggest we can supply at least one of our vehicles for 'course opening'. One of the two course opening vehicles for each stage of the rally has to drive 'briskly with a flashing light and siren wailing'! They supply the equipment!

Eugene - it's an '07 H2, no winch. I have not had the H3 for years ;)

Brain fart.......... I've come to expect them at my age! lol Or when I'm doing three things at once and

don't want the boss to see me on my 'truckporn' website!

I cant make it, I'm too busy at the moment. a friend just asked me to remove their a ground level deck and another deck thats 8 foot of the ground, and build one massive deck for them and probably a new shed. the good thing is that this will provide money for a bunch of mods on the FJ :)

3) Mike - Jimny or Vitara, winch, co-driver/crew Travis

4) Scott - '07 H2, co-driver/crew Tom

5) Calvin - '97 GC, winch, co-driver/crew Jeannie(not sure of the spelling!)

I won't get a summary of the details posted tonight, hopefully tomorrow. I'm fighting with my sleep disorder tonight. Tired! (No REM sleep!)

There will be no brisk driving from the deuce - slow and sexy.

Believe me, you will want to peddle down for the loop... It is a rush B) ! First sweep vehicle spots for debris, parts, bushwackers etc. and radios back to the second. If a car is off, you stop a past him a bit (a chance for the second sweep to stop with no accidents). That's how we swept the course last year. The well groomed roads and the cars flying around the stage makes you want to as well.

You had my club radio rigged to plug into the lighter plug (the one you have in the'Burb now) B) . I can give a loan of the one in my Jeep to someone too for this year, as I can get a plug to go directly from a 12v cig. lighter plug to the radio (but it is a short cord :/ ) and the magnet mount antenna.

I'll try to get that good write up tonight, but for now the rally organizers have said they will have jobs for all 5 of us that have epxressed the ability to attend! And even if someone has to back out, we still meet the original request for three.

Thanks folks!
