TomWood
Have a guy with a Dodge RAM running 20 inch rims with wrangler territorys on em, dont think he has skid plates but wants to get off roading, told him Id be his spotter/winch wench if he wanted to run this trail. Think he would be able to make it through?
Eastcoastcam
What year Ram? Their bumpers (at least the faring under the bumper) and sidesteps hang rather low (ask me how I know ;) ). Mine was an 07 Megacab, I had the advantage of a solid front axle and a higher stance than a regular quad cab. Is his truck a Power Wagon (with the factory winch)? If it is that model, he will have no problems. There is places where pinstriping is inevitable too.
autumnwalker
Is his truck a Power Wagon (with the factory winch)? I saw a lifted Power Wagon going through Burnside a week or two ago - I didn't even know they still made them!
TomWood
He is fine with pinstripping :) its a regular model ram, 1500 hemi. No sidesteps on it, not afraid of a little damage, no winch. Its the newer model my guess is 2008-2009 year.

TomWood
No, its black with tube side steps and NS plates. But still massive, also has anyone seen the huge blue ford that sits on kempt road?

Daren Cook
The newer Rams are too low in the front for offloading in my opinion. I have a 2012 and this trail would completely trash it. Also if it is a 4 door it will get high centered a lot. That is if it does not have a lift.
littlered
in my opinion i wouldnt take a almost stock newer dodge through here .......jus my 2 cnts worth

TomWood
This is a 4 door Ram, model before the 2012 style, looks like the same clearance as my liberty with the lift.

TomWood
Im gonna be riding shotgun in the RAM, need to get off my *** and repair the rear Driveshaft in the jeep before I can get out. At least Ill be there personally just without the libby :)
Eastcoastcam
Just make sure he is aware there is the possiblity of damage and he is there at HIS OWN risk and responsibility. His long wheelbase may get him hung up in some spots. There are intersecting roads to get out if the trail proves to be too much for his rig in the first half, but in the second half, it is ALL trail, with some rocky sections, a little tougher than the rock garden in the Range, but easier than some of the rock gardens on Clearcut & International. TomWood
Nice, I will make sure, I did inform him that the bottom of his rig will make contact, will mention the high centering. He has off roaded before down in Yarmouth but had a Lifted Jeep. I have told him he needs to login and post on here :), that reminds me how did the reg cab Ram do on the trails? autumnwalker
that reminds me how did the reg cab Ram do on the trails? the blue one? not a fair comparison - that was lifted with larger than OEM tires.
TomWood
Talking to my buddy, he is going to show up saturday night and get you guys to have a good look around the truck and then opinions can be expressed whether or not its a good idea :)

The blue one of Blaine was lifted around 5" and on 37s. Plus a shorter wheelbase than a quadcab. I guess we will see...
Eastcoastcam
CORRECTION - Blaine's blue Ram is a quad cab, but still lifted on 37s.
TomWood
Yeah the lift and 37's make a difference lol. Although this guy is running 33 or 35 inch tires on the RAM, also its an 06-08 model.
TomWood
Found out the RAM has 285/75/20 Wrangler Duratrac's, which converts to 37 inch (Just under) tall tire.
