SQRLPWR
M.U.D. Run day 2 Today's trail run guided by Eugene exceeded expectations...what a day! The day started off by getting a little lost in Ellershouse, but Tom showed us the way. Then we couldn't find the trail entrance as the area had been cleared a little. I had the map on my Garmin, so we found it. Luckily the trail entrance next to the clearing was untouched. Before we entered the trail, my alternator decided to stop working. So I got a couple of bump offs. Then in the trail entrance I stalled out and couldn't get going again. Matt jumped in and broke the accelerator cable, that he'd previously warned me about but I forgot LOL. Then we found a couple of wires with bare copper showing that had shored out on the firewall, popping my ignition fuse. Once we got the wires and accelerator cable fixed, we were on our way ! The trail we ran was a reversed 2015 Day 3 trail, which started by a really nice hill climb over some big rocks. Then it was business as usual for a MUD Run....lots of nice tight technical trails, rocks and...well, not a lot of MUD - just how I like it !! sar4x4
Yeah, me the map maker, got turned around twice at the start. I knew where I wan't to go, but I just didn't know where I was so I didn't know how to get there! So I solicited help and Tom first, then Jay second, sorted us out. What a great run. Combined two trails from M.U.D. 2014 and 2015, and threw in a new one in-between. And saw lots more possibilites to be checked out! Expedition exploreing never ends! Love those shots of the deep ditch Jay. Usually pics don't show much dimension. But all of this ditch crossing do! Thanks to all participants for their patience while we were getting to the trail head, and for helping repair Jay. I hope you come back for more runs!
