82Yota
So I threw a rod in my 1984 22r... but have a 95 4Runner, 22re that I can pillage parts from, just wondering if any of you toy guys on here have ever done this swap. If so, I'd be willing to pay someone to give me a hand and supply the beer, etc. Can also help you with any welding you need done as I did it out west for 5 years or so. I would do it myself but I'm a dummy when it comes to wiring. Any help/thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks, Greg.

Eastcoastcam
I would check out the Toyota forum and/or Pirate. I am sure it's been done and there ought to be wiring diagrams for the swap :) Mike Burke or his brother may have some ideas on this, their Toyota guys. I'll ask him. I haven't done this personally, but like all other things yota, Pirate has a very comprehensive thread on that conversion: http://www.pirate4x4.com/forum/showthread.php?t=316661 and if you need to know anything else yota related, the Pirate Yota Bible is the source: http://www.pirate4x4.com/forum/showthread.php?t=775780 Now, I also offer that I like my 22R and its Carb, it works killer for me, and I did a swap this time last year of bolting on my 22r intake to a 22re block. Everything matches up just fine, for trhe record, so if you don't want to get involved in the swap to EFI, just bolt on your carb stuff and get back to wheeling :)

I was wondering if it bolted up the same. Am I going to need the weber or can I use the stock carb? I have a weber on my 82 but its quite a ways away from me at the moment. Thanks for the links, I was trying to check the pirate forums but the website was down last night and a good part of today but seems to be working now. Yup, same bolt pattern on the manifolds, you just end up with some extra holes on the 22re head that will be covered by the gasket (not for coolant, they were part of the egr system). I used the stock carb/intake, but I did block off and remove the EGR as it wasn't supported by my header anyway.
skippy
Yes its a pretty easy swap to do. the only other things you will need to change is the temp/oil sensors, unless you are running aftermarket gauges.

82Yota
Yeah I should have it done here in a few weeks. Waiting to see if I can rent a garage on a permanent basis. Mainly so I can bring my 82 back to stock and but looking pretty and to keep my current running. If can rent a decent one you guys would be welcome to come and hoist some beers. GARAGE-BQ!
