It has a fresh New Brunswick safety sticker on it ... apparently they don't need that stuff there?
I'd bet that they do. Just sayin'...

Bit later posting pics than I planned.... but here goes...
Had to take the roll bar off to modify it so that the rear seat will fold up properly.
Had to take the soft top off to take the roll bar out.
Now that the soft top is off, might as well put the hard top on. Hasn’t been on since I’ve bought the truck!
It will finally look like a Scout again! And be more secure, warmer, etc etc and easy to switch back and forth.
The diff cover was a little side project. My new helper cleaned it up and I sprayed it. Originally took it off to change the fluid, and while doing so, installing Lube Locker gaskets...

I don’t know about the name. Hmm.
And my post asking for Details, well, we’ll blame it on my computer/network at work. 95% of your post was missing!Congrats, and now the fun begins! Good on ya!

The Scout looks really good @sar4x4!
Thanks, and just decided shortly ago to make a change sooner rather than later that wasn't going to happen till months from now.
Pics to follow later this morning.
And my new-found helper is working out really well, they can wrench and have great ideas!

They are called 'Man on a tractor' logos............... Just have to use a bit of imagination. It's an 'i' and an 'H' of course. For 'International Harvester'.
The current 'International Harvester' logo/symbol is 'looking along a long highway', for their 'Over the Road' highway tractors.

Nice finishing touches. Are they NOS or repos?
Original on the truck. Just popped them off and painted. ('Just' popped them off. LOL While my head was in the foot wells (for the IH emblems), feet on the garage floor, my back like a pretzel, one hand stuck behind the kick panel....)
'SSS' lists used ones at $56US each, and repro look-alike stickers for very little $. But my Scout was well 'restored' when I purchased it. Just needs some 'sprucing up'.

Worked in the garage Saturday for 4 hours. Had/Have to straighten the front bumper to get the Grille Guard on. Almost ready to install.
My helper pulled some parts off and painted them on Sunday. Pics follow!

I'm just making baked beans whilst I read your post and do some SAR work.
Thanks for the great read and the garage as clean as an ER!

Loooong transmission and transfer-case combination! Did we discuss this before in the post? How is it going to work out?

Love this thread. The garage I use is not mine, so that's my excuse for never doing a job any where near as particular as this!
Good on ya!

Makes sense! I have heard that about the Tacos - low seating position. You know what that means though? Ground clearance! lol
Just raise the roof! If I want a low seating position I'll buy a Ferrari, lol.

@sar4x4 what made you go with the Ranger over a Tacoma or a Colorado / Canyon?
Historically I've been a GM and Toyota aficionado. But I realize they are all good. I do like the 'Chebby', the GMC is way too stodgy for me. TBH, the GF is a Ford person, and once I drove the Ranger, and the sales person I dealt with, I had no problem going with it. Trying new things!
As for the Toy, I love Toys. Even had an '83 'HiLux', brand spanking new. They weren't called Tacos back then. But the seats are too close to the floor for me now.

I have a tracking number! So far it says the items were picked up at 4 pm yesterday. In Enon, Ohio.....

Sorry, I miss-spoke. The factory rake and wheel/tire combo all fit and work well. It just looks poor with the rake.
And / or I just want to spend some money to level it and improve the stance (in my opinion). The hood will sit as high as a 150. And I’ll likely have the tallest new Ranger around.

The factory wheel / tire combo needs the leveling kit?
Yup, the Rangers are nose down, tail high. Supposedly the F-150s as well. (Factory says it's to have a level stance when they are loaded. How many F-150s and Rangers are loaded? Most are grocery getters!) So Ford is releasing leveling kits shortly! It's been all over the inter-web this fall. I was glad I stumbled across it. Even the local parts guy at Steele Ford knew about it!

Was at the garage on the weekend. I think I'm getting more parts taken off, than being put back on! I'll find a pic or two...
