There’s a reason all Night Ops use red!  👍

I've converted the superwhite leds in the 2023 international tow truck I run to red in the interior. Makes it much nicer to do paperwork and not blinding

TREs came in....no castle nut or provision for a cotter pin, just a nylock nut.

I might have to drill it for a cotter pin to be extra safe.

What brand are they? Are these for the trail gear high steer?

Jay - you can get Grade 8(?) ‘pinch’ nuts.  Very similar to a Nylon lock nut but all-metal construction.  The ‘pinched’ part of the nut won’t wear off like Nylon could, nor melt like Nylon could.  Parts For Trucks Burnside used to carry them.  I have a few on the ‘Burb for critical bolts.  🤷‍♂️

The 2.3 conversion runs a manual transmission ECU with no provision for the 3 speed automatic torque convertor lockout. A switch was added to the dash to facilitate the TC lockout.

The location of the switch wasn't great, and the LED was burning a fellas retina.
So, I moved the switch to a more accessible location.

Now I can flip the switch without having to lean over into the dash.

It looks a bit odd on the photos, but it's not.

I might cut and inch or 2 off the top to lower the button so it's at my finger tips...maybe

I had a manual back-up light switch on my ‘88 Cherokee.  The in-trans one was u/s.  I placed it on my shifter as well, but I wouldn’t say it was ergonomically correct.

It was very convenient though when someone was tailgating me or running their high beams.  They tended to back off really quickly when they thought I was going to dump a transmission on the road directly in front of them!  Lol. 🤪

I've owned dozens of vehicles in the past, from Alfa Romeo's, to mk1 Golf's and that bad to the bone '82 F150. But nothing has beaten this Tracker for smiles per hour....nothing.

So it truly saddens me to write this post.

A week ago, some ******* pulled out of the Bedford Legion right in-front of me, causing me to swerve and roll the rig as I hit the curb with my front right tire.

I was knocked out as my head hit the curb, but thankfully here to tell the tale with minimal body damage.

The rig however, is a write off. Everything above the frame is toast.

The other driver took off, but thankfully there was enough witnesses and video to track him down.

Apparently he left the scene because he saw I was still on 4 wheels - that my friends is bullsh1t. I rolled immediately after I near missed him...within a second. it was that quick. If he had looked, he would have known. He said he checked.

Cops have charged him with leaving the scene, and failing to yield. So that's something I guess.

I'm now waiting on an assessor to see what I'm left with.

I'm obviously devastated, and trying to figure out next steps.

In an perfect world, I'll get to keep the rig and have enough of a payout to import another southern rig and swap the upgrades over, AND still be able to insure it.

IDK, I have a horrible feeling they will take it away.

Yes, that's something I'll be pursuing. I don't even know if the motor is hurt with it getting oil in the cylinders (motor oil observed in the intake), and you can see the transmission leak too - that most likely a transmission line issue.

And my beloved Fierro seats - the drivers headrest structure is bent when it hit the ground. LOL.

I can't bear to look at it....well can't open the hood.

What a mess.
