(Maybe I should charge $10 and give $5 back if you make it through the trail? lol) If you follow ATF (transfer case) drops home you will end up at my home, lol

Colin C
Thanks for a fun time. Great day in the woods. Gained some experience and some confidence. Here are some photos. Thanks for the tow, Gordon! Cheers, Colin

Colin C
Not a chance! I do have to live within the abilities of my rig so appreciated Eugene's cautions about continuing. I look forward to hearing how things ended up. C
SQRLPWR
I think you would have been fine if you had continued. We all winched except Tom and Gordon who made it up the 1st of the 3 big hills without winching. But best to be cautious if not sure

Colin C
Here is a video of the first axle breaking. Ouch!
Brunet-Hemi
It took almost nothing to do it too. I knew they weren't strong but holy crap. It was at full droop though being high centred which didn't help.

They weren't designed for 40" tires stuck in mud! The stress was probably 4x what they were designed for! Oh dear! Been there, done that twice with my original rear 1/2 ton axle shafts. Now I have '1 tons'...........
sar4x4
I watched but didn't listen yet. It looks like the 40's and a higher bumper made it further through the hole than my lower bumper and 37s!
SQRLPWR
Maybe limiting straps will help keep the axle from dropping too far?

Oh they most definitely are not meant for 40s. Lol. I think I'm going to replace the shafts for now (both were under warranty still). But I do have a plan to get a bigger center section in there so I can use stronger shafts without worrying about breaking the diff. 23 minutes ago, sar4x4 said: I watched but didn't listen yet. But I guess would be beneficial until I can upgrade things.
joeylowthers450R
truck is looking nice but take the fozzy out of the front since they break front axles on an open diff fairly easy also. im starting to think you like it being broken. i run a fozzy lock, but in the rear where the axles are beefy enough to hold up to it.
