Nightpath
I'm thinking about getting some tires and having them siped for a bit more traction (getting the tires at a bargain). Does any place in the Valley do siping? And does anyone here know what it costs? Thanks
sar4x4
It's been 6 months! The forum was missing you! And some others................... I think we have some other club/forum members down your way, maybe you need to make a Valley chapter! Tentative M.U.D. 2017 plans have us down your way............... autumnwalker
I siped the XML tires I had on the H2 myself - it was cheaper / easier to buy the siping iron and DIY than to find a place that would do what I wanted.
Nightpath
I'm still here lurking, just been busy. Almost done the Eagle as well. Sipe them myself hmm.
Powerram
Iv sipped a set of tires with a good quality olfa knife, set blade depth to desired depth, I didn't go all fancy , just straight across all tread lugs(easy) and the tires worked much better in wet and snow conditions, as the tire wears , the sides will open up a bit
autumnwalker
This is what I used ... I picked it up from a board member (new), but I forget who gets them. http://www.idealheatedknives.com/
Nightpath
I bet it takes a while to do with the Olfa. These are the tires I got. On a tight budget and really had not too many options so when they were 25% off it seemed like a good deal. In the US they have good reviews.http://www.canadiantire.ca/en/pdp/motomaster-total-terrain-a-t2-0052280p.html US version : https://www.summitracing.com/int/search/product-line/mastercraft-courser-a-t2-tires

The reason I bought the apl instead of the at2 was the siping. I put them on the Ford for the winter and they work great!! Super happy with them, but they aren't round, one of the tires I noticed had a "hop" while balancing, I got it zeroed, but a little vibration is present, I tried moving it on the rim , most likely it would fail a road force balance , but I'm not that picky about it, so it doesn't bother me. As for siping with the olfa knife, once the first tire was done I had a wild and dangerous rhythm going and the other 3 were finished in the time it took to do the first. Here are my total terrain apl tires
sar4x4
Those are cute little tires (for the winter), in those great big wheel wells!
Nightpath
My son said the same thing, those tires are small. He asked why people would put small tires on big trucks lol.
