ronin
Jay ,in this pic I trimmed the floor, firewall area back to the body mount to fit the 33's no more rubbing . always liked the look but as you know , I cant leave well enough aloneĀ
SQRLPWR
Nice!! I have 3(4?) inch body lift, YJs and my 33's are 10.50 not 12.50, so I'm hoping that's gonna be enough...we'll see I also have a BFH
SQRLPWR
Tires are on, and I couldn't be happier. There's not much noticeable difference in power loss or road manners, and AFAIK no body rubbing, except my filler hose......so far! Ā Ā
SQRLPWR
I just noticed the OEM fuel filler pipe has an extra bend in it.... presumably to get it out of the way of the tire.

SQRLPWR
One of the snaps broke in my deck cover...it's a tight fit. Bestop sent me a repair kit under warranty, that should keep me going for a while LOL Ā

Bestop sent me a repair kit under warranty, that should keep me going for a while LOL Ā My Scout soft top is a really tight fit in one corner, unless it's 30 degrees C out. Ā I ended upĀ using two screws, I can't pull it over quite far enough to hookĀ properly.Ā Two because I thought theyĀ might take the load better and reduce the chanceĀ the canvas might tear. The screw heads rusted a nice tan khaki/camouflage colour, just like the canvas! My hillbilly skills at work, but infinitelyĀ cheaper than a new top that may be hard to come by/buyĀ (pun intended)! SQRLPWR
I'm so happy with these 33s So far I can't feel anything negative, other than the filler pipe and I need to tinker with the alignment as it's pulling left a little. SQRLPWR
Decided to tackle a few jobs in prep for it's mechanical safety test. 1st job, fix the fabrication error. The Zuk didn't have any shocks or lower shock mounts when I got it, so I burned some mounts, but not thinking, I clocked them 90 degrees the wrong way, and the axle flex has destroyed the bushings. I had some mounts ready to burn on, but I discovered shock space is millimeter tight on the tank side, so I had to make some 'spacers' to bring the mount outboard to clear the tank. It kills me, but I might have to get some shorter shocks so they can clear the axle tube. Ā
sar4x4
Hopefully you can figure something out! Ā If not, mount the short onesĀ for inspection and road manners, then take them off for wheeling. Ā Not ideal but....
SQRLPWR
Good idea! I didn't realize how skinny the OEM Sami shocks are. That explains the tight clearance lol.Ā Today I snagged a '96 f150 rad hose at Kenny's for 2$. I'm gonna use the bends in it to relocate the filer hose tighter towards the frame as it's catching on the 33s
sar4x4
Uh oh! Ā Read up, but typically don't use coolant hose forĀ fuel and vice versa. If it delaminates or otherwise goops up in the inside, and you plug your fuel filterĀ and injectors..... Ā Interesting re the skinny shocks! sar4x4
It is a bit harder to find big fuel hose... Ā or at least it was for me when the fuel filler pipe rusted out on my '82 Subaru, back in '92 or so.
SQRLPWR
Understood, but it's just on the downpipe, so it won't have fuel sitting in it..I'm ok with the risk, and TBH I think that's what it has installed on in right now What I might do is use as much metal pipe as I can, then just use it to connect it all together. I tried to find one that was fuel pipe, and the right size, but most were too small to fit over the tank inlet on the Zuk in the yard. Ā
SQRLPWR
Shocks and fuel filler relocate are done. I used the metal pipe that came with the hose, so it should be ok. Ā
SQRLPWR
Pulled the cracked windshield in prep for getting it's replacement installed. I was pleasantly surprised to see only a few spots of surface rust behind the seal....and a pile of sandy mud :O Rust removed and some Tremclad is baking in the sun
SQRLPWR
Bought a tcase rebuild kit off ebay that stated "BEARINGS - 5 ( MADE IN JAPAN )", only to wait 5 weeks and have 4x "India" bearings arrive. Needle bearings & seals were OEM Maruti , and the BIG bearing is a Koyo. Sneaky seller changed the wording on the ebay listing and removed the 'Made in Japan' part......but luckily I printed a copy Ā So.....run the India bearings, or go through the hassle and wait of shipping it all back ? Lil'monster
My opinion stop buying discount crap from ebay buy quality product from reputable company once and call it done . Don't get me wrong I purchase certain thingsĀ from ebay but you take your chances . I usually do alot of research and still try to buy known good name products even on ebay . You have had nothing but trouble with your t case why add to that by putting cheap bearings in
