The Zuk has strong-arm steering, which is great for simplicity, but with 33 inch mud terrains it gets a little hard on the old arms after a few hours wheeling.

Yellow Zuk came with plow plumbing and a power steering box.

The plow gear went to Dave, and he kindly returned the favour by donating a Tracker power steering setup so I can hook up the box.

So I knocked years of wheeling dirt and grime off it all, and it and hit it with some rust paint.

Pump needs a seal kit before I can install it.

Keep us updated for sure!  Though we'll hate to see your arms dwindle to little sticks without the workout.  lol  Now my 35's with 3 tons of weight on them, that would be a big workout as well!

(All depends on leverage of the steering wheel, steering box, etc, I suppose though! )

Whilst I wait on a seal kit for the PS pump, I replaced the rocker cover gasket as the old seal was rock hard. Hopefully that be the end of my consistent drip drip.

Also did the usual maintenance, changed the oil, checked the plugs and air filter. All good 🙂

I was surprised how dirty the dino oil was considering how few KMs it's traveled. I threw in some fully synthetic in this time.

Started rebuilding the power steering setup by tearing down a perfectly good steering box instead of the leaky pump....damn!

Oh well, it was interesting to see how the steering box works LOL

Had to stop as I don't have a c-clip remover for the pump shaft.

The Zuk has had a mystery water leak for a while, with no visible signs of water. So I just ran it until it got bad.
It eventually started to leave large puddles of water under the engine, that looks like it was from the water pump area,
Luckily I have 2 spare engines, so I pulled one and replaced it.

I left the timing cover off to keep an eye on the blue gasket maker, but given the crank is 3ft off the ground (measured), I might be lazy and keep it off - thoughts?

You pulled the engine and replaced it, or just the water pump? lol  The text is unclear, but the pic suggests just the water pump.

You would leave the timing cover off during driving?  I must be tired, I don't understand! lol  I wouldn't recommend that!  In the driveway for short periods, sounds okay.

Not the 1st time, but I almost threw up when I got home from the last tour on Big Jones due to gas fumes, so I took a sawzall to the pipe to stop me going out in it.... again LOL.

Cleaned up the manifold and added a good downpipe. Got the Zuk booked in for a proper exhaust soon :)

Brakes were double pumpers at best, so replaced the rear brake shoes and swollen cylinder dust covers - now i have brakes :)

A while back I had mounted my air compressor to the jack mount on the inner fender. Unfortunately the pump didn't like the moisture and mud in there, so I had to remove it.

So to keep the pump out of the elements, I stole Derek's idea and added a 50 cal ammo can for some dry storage.

Major Discount on Windmill Road.

It was a more expensive than I was expecting, but isn't everything. I guess because it's 2 inch and 100% custom.

Exhaust pipe is my Nemesis, but I'm glad I bit the bullet and got it done, so I don't have to deal with it anymore :)

The 100 month Kirkland battery died on me yesterday, litteraly on the next crank after the club run....lucky it didn't die on the trail! 🙂

Since it was 16 months old and less than 36 months, it was a straight refund. Gotta love Costcos warranty!

Not good that it failed, but great that they refunded.

What are you putting in the Zuk now?

Batteries I believe are like shocks.  There are only a few companies manufacturing them.  Although they can have different specs, many may be the same with a different brand label on them and a similar or different price point.  Warranty and customer service by the seller can be a big difference!
