SQRLPWR
Just thinking out aloud here, but has anyone tried to get from one side of NS to the other without hitting pavement? Obviously north to south would be shorter.
sar4x4
Hmm, nice idea! Seems to be the rage, Argentina to Alaska.. Alaska south to north....... Idea for M.U.D. 2016? My sister followed her GPS from Murphy's Cove to Tatamagouche (shortest route, not best route!) and she said it was largely dirt road.
SQRLPWR
do dirt roads count?
sar4x4
I think dirt roads count, and you think so too, because you said 'without hitting pavement'................
SQRLPWR
haha, very true...but getting N to S on just dirt roads wouldn't be much fun
sar4x4
Oh, I didn't say 'solely' on dirt roads. I would suggest a crossing from Hubbards area, up through Big Jones, around to Jeff's trails up through Springhill, and out to the Strait.
sar4x4
A stock friendly route, I just traced a couple of possible dirt road routes from the Eastern Shore area up to Pictou area. :-) So many ideas, so little time!
e36m3
With the amount of trails that connect at some point. It's easy to get from lunenbgerg to Sackville then airport then the eastern shore through porters lake and then lake Charlotte and you keep going until at least last sheet harbour. Using fun trails and logging roads, without barely touching the pavement And i m not even considering myself as someone who knows the trails "really" good around here. So it would be feasible i think
simon
From Tangier to moose river gold mines, over stuarts hill to upper stewiacke, through greenfield to mt thom, mt thom to tatamagouche, across to wentworth through londonderry, then skip n jump up to jeffs area. Very doable
