sar4x4
So my Nissan Rogue radiator was leaking yesterday (this Nissan needs repairs seemingly at least once a month...........) at 140k km. Looks like aluminum(?) tubes, with a plastic tank across the top, and leaking along the tank.. Any thoughts? I've only ever had old-fashioned rads go bad before and I just take them to the rad shop. And there certainly isn't many of them anymore!
Powerram
Yep, every alumn rad with plastic tanks leak eventually. Seems the "crimp " looses its hold onto the plastic caused the pressure cycles over time. Under the crimp is the plastic tank and between the tank and alumnium core is a rubber gasket. IV taken this type of rad out of the car/vehicle and "re crimped " those crimps and got lucky a few times. Others I couldn't stop so new rad was needed. sar4x4
That is exactly what I read on-line after I posted. Thanks, I wanted to hear some local experience.
