Nightpath
I'm thinking of a project vehicle, one for overland, camping use and the like. One with room to spare. I've run the gamut and have come up with the idea of a GMC Safari or Chevy Astro with a bit of a lift, beefy tires and a bit more. Since they have a really good AWD and enough power to get around (and a v8 can be swapped in with ease) I think it's something I might want to build. So if anyone sees a newer model AWD Chevy Astro / GMC Safari with reasonably low KM (sub 180k km) and not a rotted mess or beat drive train let me know. sar4x4
I've seen some of those on video/magazine/TV or somewhere. Seems to be a neat trend.

I remember working on them at the dealership, they had a lot of transfer case problems, the coupler gave trouble of not ("slipping) properly and would bind during turns creating jerky drivability, premature wear of t-case chain ,Swapping in a regular selectable t-case might not be a bad idea. Nightpath
It's a thought right now. I have a few ideas on the burner for an overland type vwhile my family can adventure in. I've always wanted to build one up a bit. They are really popular in Japan.

derekmac
I know where you can get a nice comfy lifted Grand Cherokee that's ready to take you just about anywhere. lol The Mitsubishi Delica is a popular 4x4 van, but not sure how easy it would be to find one here. TomWood
I tend to see a ton of Delicas, they seemed to be popular for a while.
Nightpath
Parts on the Delica are hard to find I believe. They are a really cool rig though, I'd rock one.
sar4x4
I believe there is one around here, on the Eastern Shore. I believe its what Jim 'Olive' had for a while.
