Blast from the past

Well, there is one more part to the story.......

If you look closely you can now see there is no winch cable hook.............

There was nothing to winch to in front of me.  So I ran the cable under the truck and out the back.  But I didn't space it down from the sharp edges using logs or boards.

And it snapped...

Yup, been there, done that!  I have lots of T-shirts!  Jay usually tells me he loves these true stories!

James will remember these two....

Different years.  Had to replace the non-rusted front fenders.  The spot welds had let go, and the sheet metal fatigued and ripped near the A-pillars.  It was easier to purchase replacement fenders.

I wasn't always getting out on monthly runs over the years, but she has seen a lot of back roads, especially doing set up for the annual Eco-Endurance Challenge.

Ooops, have to wait a few minutes the website maximum upload watchdog says.  Okay, second try...........

The first pic is Ellershouse, where I had Dave as my anchor to Winch the bus out of that spot since your hub was messed up and not engaging....

The second was just after the mud hole on the power line heading into Beaverbank/Renfrew from M.U.D. 2014

The first truck I built when I moved to alberta . This is getting ready on a dual club run. My club had invited Calgary jeep association to join us. About 18 jeeps and a hand full of mutts. The jeep guys weren't impressed to be wheeling with a full size. Later in the day after I had passed a tight area of trees and pulled out countless jeeps they had to cut trees down to pass where I had already gone through.

Actually I don't think she is all that hard on gas!  One day we wheeled with a JK and I think they ran out first!  But, for sure on the highway at 65 mph she is pedal to the metal to keep her there.  I have to use Premium fuel, otherwise she spark knocks under load, so she is leaned out well, and good plugs and headers and with the Chevy HEI she runs quite fine!

Helping hand, getting ready for our annual spring event.

Some maintenance way back in time.

Another iteration.............  10 Bolt, 8-lug front with 15 inch rims  (shaved calipers).  14 Bolt FF rear.

Wanted the 14 Bolt rear, but it can from a HD 3/4 Ton, therefore only a 10 Bolt (think Dana 44) front.  Bought the 8 lug 15" rims used so I wouldn't have to buy new tires.  Those were 33s or 35s.  Now I have 37 - 17s.  And a Dana 60 front.

Green roof, original, rattle can black sides, painted the stripes on the hood in my living room, really rough sheet metal, and was testing the yellow look one day with a piece of cardboard, a rattle can, and a beer..................
