Great day out, wont warm up for like a month, but worth it! So, it was an icy snowy day, hummer and ford parked part way through and hopped in with people...Rover was the winch bait of the day, but at the same time, shocked everyone in some spots that thing made it through! Potato Digger Posted February 4, 2013 Report Share Posted February 4, 2013 Well it was a challanging day, bumping, sliding or slideways, digging, thumping, a little grinding, lots of hauling! Mostly on winches. We all made it out and had a great adventure! It started with snow and ended with rain which made it really tricky. I broke a sway link piece, put a dent it my rock rail, scraped the corner of the bush guard, and lost a few studs along the way.Thanks to the Red dodge for a little tug in a sticky situation. It is always good when you can get home under your own power. Today proved that I got a hell of a deal on a lot of truck, I love my FJ.....................although it is hard love! I think it is also worth noting that while I did winch my self several times, I also winched others (not naming any names but one of them was a black H2...) up the icy hill. Great day in the wood. Thank you! It is an impressive piece of gear. Goes to show what a person can do with old technology, open diffs (I wonder how much the gear ratio has to do with it... 4.7:1) and a short wheelbase!
