I do recall a certain HUMMER DRIVER, that almost bought a jeep :)

Yes, a couple times actually. But I always found myself thinking "what the f*** am I thinking?".

I even test drove some 2013 Rubicons recently (2 and 4 doors) - I left thinking "eww". Hopped into my H2, turned on the heated, leather seat, and drove home happy.

You can get heated seats in the JKs now... and get the TRUE capabilities of a Jeep and all the aftermarket support you can handle, and more that define the term JEEP. ;) .

Let's face it, you don't imediately think Compass/Patriot/Liberty when you hear the word Jeep, do you?

Go check out the leather in the JKs; it's awful! Heat works I guess, but the leather material feels like plastic.

And no, to be honest, I don't think of anything but the Wrangler when I think of "Jeep". That being said, I do like the Liberty. The Compass and Patriot are a joke.

Heres a thing, are you buying the jeep for luxury reasons? So scott why do you expect something like high quality leather.. ?

When I spend $1000 for a leather seat option I expect the "leather" to actually be leather. Of all the vehicles I have driven / owned with leather seats, the JK was the worst; honestly, I would rather the cloth. They felt like plastic.

Point is the new JKs have really cheap interiors - they can't even get the steering wheel centered with the driver's seat!

Yeah be we all know " how cheap" vechs are built these days.. I had leathers, I sold them for cloth..

Called a offset steering wheel, my 1990 Passat Wagon, my Current 96 Passat has a offset steering wheel.

Things are starting to go downhill on the quality side for all manufacturers. I enjoy my Liberty because it will be a luxury off roader once im done, and fully capable :) but I agree, you hear jeep and the first thing that comes to mind is a wrangler. However in the UK you think off road and you buy a land rover. Location plays a big part in what you wheel, friend of mine wants me to sell the liberty and get a rover, but I just cant part with the jeep.

Scott they been off centering steering wheels for 20+ years...

And reason why they make leather heats heated.. Its cold in the winter, hot and sticky in the summer.

I don't care how long they have been off centering wheels - it's f***ing stupid.

They make heated seats for people like me who like heated seats; has nothing to do with the seat material - cloth seats can be heated too (and is an option in the JK).

To each their own.

Scott you don't even notice the offset wheel after a couple days, I been driving one for several years now ( most of my European cars had offset wheels ) Some engineer making more then us thinks its important, because they been in Lambo, BMW, Audi, VWs, Jeeps Plus many more.

Just Sayin,

I love love love heated leather seats, and real leather makes a huuuuggeee difference as of comfort. As cold as they can be in the winter, i'd waaaaay rather the warmth of leather then cloth annny day.. as much as I love our "heated floors" I'd love to have leather heated seats. Whats wrong with having luxury while off roading ? PLUS, cleans the mud off 2248832x easier.

Never said nothing wrong with lux while off roading. My work Gwagon, RG31 & Silverado has fake leather seats because it was easier to clean then cloth, I just hatted the sliding around in the seat feeling you get with leather.
