  1. It’s called a Tie-Rod end, appropriately enough, and usually abbreviated as TRE.
  2. Bleeding the front brakes (including proportioning valve) is a 3 person job. Have to hold open the valve which reduces pressure to the front discs vs. rear drums. (ATM mostly sprucing-up our 35 yr old home……) All good!
  3. The Scout is more driver than Concurs(?), lol, but I hope (4 letter word), plan (another 4 letter word), INTEND to have it at the New Glasgow car show this summer. And other shows.
  4. Just noticed this today! Now I’ll Google Kendrick Lane… lol
  5. Been installing a new muffler to replace the one I had to cut off, to get at the brake line, etc etc. Slow but sure…. Thanks for the likes Paul! Lol
  6. Started bleeding lines today. From the master cylinder to each wheel. Didn’t get too far yet!
  7. I did a backwoods road tour in the Ranger Saturday, it was great!
  8. The Heep and the Scout - we both are on track. HOPEFULLY the ‘Burban….
  9. New brake line is in place and 99% connected. Just need to refasten to the frame at one point. Going to garage today….
  10. IIRC you made one Heep post last year. You’re at two already this year!
  11. I scrolled through Google maps at the location the store was at, and no name popped up at the building.
  12. I saw a post, likely on Fb, that the Canadian retailers of 4WheelParts were bought out by someone, I forget who though.

    Hello!

Hi Jimmy Pop! This site is QUIET, but alive! Many folks use our page ‘Backcountry 4x4 Club’ on Fb. IIRC the latest coffee nites have been posted there, we had quite a few just before Christmas. It may have been COVID, or a general downturn, but things definitely have been quieter the last couple of years. Here’s to a better summer this year! ‘Woods-challenged mobility’ for me at the moment. A daily driver, a mild show truck awaiting some TLC, and a formerly woods-capable rig are in my stable. Sigh. But we did have a good turnout at the latest meeting.
  14. Lines have ‘shipping bends’ if necessary. Bends with a 1’ radius. Box is 4’ x 1’ x 6”. Had 7 different lines inside. Such large radius bends Do Not kink the line and roll out easily. I think I posted a picture at the time of receipt on Fb.
  15. Broke a brake line 20 months ago. Too hard to use a flare tool, etc etc. under the truck. Scout hasn’t moved since! Bought a kit of custom pre-fabbed lines from In-Line Tube, direct fit for the Scout. Great quality! Removed old line in three pieces on the left, new line on the right. Now trying to install it. Currently taking one of the mufflers off to gain better access. The exhaust pipe leading into the muffler was well into the main body, not just into the short inlet pipe….
  16. Scott - The new login methods messed things up for me!. Until the change I could log in on my iPhone by my Face ID. I loved it. Now I have to put in a username and password again.
  17. D’uh. I should’ve thought if that last coffee night!
  18. ‘I’m not married to my tow truck anymore’…. do we take that literally or is it a figure of speech? Lol
  19. And oh yeah, IIRC Dave mentioned a hill that you and him and … someone else tried that has a side-step on it…. He mentioned it when I mentioned I’m still very interested in the ‘new’ hill I don’t know of anyone ascending yet, that I co-piloted a few folks in to at the end of Myra Road / Porters Lake. (Dave IIRC, Logan White, and Nick?)
  20. Hey man. You probably already talked to Dave, but here is another summation. ‘Let’s carry on!’ Straighten out the club bank account. Hopefully some of us will get our rigs running again. (You’re good with that right now!) I’m still hoping/planning to get my show and woods rigs running again………………….
  21. Now Jay has to show me on a map where the hill is that Dave mentioned……….
  22. IT WAS REALLY GOOD TO SEE ALL THOSE THAT WERE THERE.
  23. On a little overlanding trip we took last Sunday. Some ‘Roads Less Travelled’ here in NS. A mix of wind damage and lots of scenic and interesting views.
