  1. Yea they haven’t made them in a while!
  2. I’ve got the hubs at center of tire opening in photo. The rear should be fine from the “clearancing” I did to the body. I removed pinch weld up front and am hopeful it will fit. My wheels just came in, had to get 17’s as 37” tires aren’t available for 15” anymore. Ordered from Canada wheels and had them very fast. I have been waiting on these tires for about 2 years now. The date on the sidewall indicates they we made in May of this year. They smell fresh too haha.
  3. The wheels look awesome! What backspacing options were available? A half decent joint with tore boot makes a nice trail spare if you replace!
  4. I have been eyeballing the same wheels for some time but can’t justify yet just like jay said. But if 37” BFG KM3s ever are available again (been trying for a year to order a set) I might sell my krawlers on the rims in hopes to get a set of these methods! Can’t wait to see the photos of the tires mounted and hear how they perform!
  5. Great that you are making progress! I’ll have to drive up some night in the summer for coffee night to see it!
  6. My brother just picked up an old man emu lift from there before Christmas for his tacoma.
  7. I’m 5’9” and feel tall in the car haha. They are neat little cars though!
  8. A couple winters back my uncle and I redid his Miata. There was a fair bit of body work and a few mechanical bits to address on this build. It went from all chalky white to modern (mazda) grey metallic and black (mazda) on the hard top and side mirrors. Also installed a one piece replacement soft top. Doesn’t have much ground clearance so we kept it on the pavement afterwards haha.
  9. I missed this post! Sometimes I do but mostly for family at rates that can’t be complained over haha. I can be too fussy myself sometimes and many wouldn’t want to pay for the number of hours it takes when being fussy haha. I guess that is why I don’t pay for much work either.
  10. Got the sliders welded back on and painted last night and managed to get done without wrecking the new paint. Did the final bit of assembly this morning and took for a short drive. Happy to be done for summer!
  11. This is only the fourth time I’ve painted, 3rd on this truck haha. Youtube has helped improve my work over the past couple jobs haha. Paint society has some really good content on gun cleaning and setup. I never cleaned my gun properly ever so it doesn't spray well anymore. There is absolutely nothing wrong with a roll on job! With a high density roller some guys make it look like a spray even. This is too nice a paint for what I do with truck but I had it already and easier to not change. Next time it won’t be metallic.
  12. Thank you! Same plastic I used when I painted last time in my last spot. Bit of paint on the floor but no where else! I painted in a shop once that I didn’t mask and anything that didn’t have a heavy layer of dust on it got painted Same paint I used the last time. Holds up to tree limbs decently and I prepped to paint knowing I was going to scratch it up therefore didn’t get fussy. Lots of little dents and scratches showing through. I bought 1 gal of paint when I first painted it and still have about 1/4 left. Spent significantly less this way than rattle cans and it holds up decently. When I sprayed it blue back in 09 I used enamel and no clear and it was really cheap! The urethane starts off really shiny but dulls also since I don’t clear it. If there is a next time I will try another color altogether!
  13. Freshly painted old grill, conversion headlights and AUS style marker light/blinker combos. NA trucks all had blinkers in the bumper and just the marker light in fender.
  14. I pulled the plastic down off of the shop walls later in the evening and unmasked the truck the following morning once the paint had hardened some. I got all the panels back on the truck and the guts back in the doors. Just the back door needs the window mechanism reinstalled.
  15. Well my compressor had barely enough juice to maintain minimum pressure I needed at the gun but I went for it anyways. My gun also is not spraying evenly, my own fault for not cleaning properly the last couple times I used it and I can’t seem to get it to spray right. Since the paint is going to see spruce trees in about a weeks time it does ‘t really matter anyways, just going for one color (ish). It took about two quarts to cover everything twice leaving me at least enough to paint this much again from my original gallon I bought 5 years ago! There was a lot of paint hanging in the air by the time I finished but I will let dry for an hour before I open the doors and risk more dust and bugs.
  16. Took another break from the truck work in May to landscape and seed our lawn. Got back at it though and got everything I’m going to paint wet sanded. Then I masked everything off that I don’t want to paint, including the shop. I reapplied my rocker guard as some areas previous covered were repaired and did not have the textured look. The plan is to paint tomorrow!
  17. I can’t wait to see the difference. The sealed beams on it probably have been on it for 10 years maybe? I definitely didn’t plan on this much work this time around, started with a tailgate replacement and then I couldn’t help but address some other issues I knew were lurking. Some tasks like headights are just a nice break from body work haha.
  18. I may end up with LED eventually but expect this will be a huge upgrade over old, stock headlights!
  19. Got the fill done on the tailgate and wheel wells for the most part. There may be a touch of glazing putty required to smooth out but only if I get particular. The seam between body panels on the passenger side rocker panel was cracking so I took a look with a wire wheel and found another rust area to address. I needed a break from the body work so I cut and re-welded the side of my bumper back on better in line with the body. I also shortened the sliders to match the bigger opening of the rear wheel wells. I had some new parts come in too. Door seals to fix the torn and sagging seals I’ve always lived with on the truck and new conversion headlight fixtures so I can run a H4 bulb instead of sealed beams. I like the look of them and hopefully they will be much brighter. I could always put in LED bulbs but would require additional wiring for that conversion. Anything will be better than the stock ones. I sanded my spare grill and painted it black since I was on a sanding kick with the body work too. Not sure how the paint will hold up but I like how it turned out.
  20. I use both but the brush on is cheaper and goes on thicker without runs. Perfect for the floor haha.
  21. Well other projects got in the way and covid made its way into the house so I’m delayed in making an update again, excuses I know. I originally installed the 4”HD Leafs up front from TG but found the truck too light for them so I had taken a leaf out a couple years back. Swapping to a V6 and adding a winch has added enough weight to need the extra leaf again so I finally got around to reinstalling it so I would stop hitting the bump stops so easily. I also got the metal work done on my replacement tailgate. I had a local shop bend me a new piece to replace the top edge that had lots of rust. The bottom edge of the tailgate had rust coming through from the inside so I opted to cut out and replace. One on the badges on the rear gate also pokes through the metal and always causes rust so this area was replaced too. The inside of the truck got a fresh coat of brush on tremclad while the interior is out.
  22. All recent ones with an iphone 12. All have been with iphones though.
